The translator of this version, Dean Williams, has spent a lifetime as a Bible reader. He was frustrated as a young man by the bland ambiguous prose of most translations. He developed a passion that all be able to understand the Scriptures and see the big picture. His translation combines language that carries the emotional content of the original, while providing helps that allow the seeker a chance to put the Bible in its basic historical and political setting. He has attempted where possible to translate the Hebrew idiom into an English idiom to add color and power to the language.

 

Rev. Williams is an ordained Lutheran pastor with 30 years experience in ministry  Before this he was in the US Army, serving two tours of duty in Viet Nam. He has also worked in restaurants and agriculture, studied engineering and accounting, in addition to graduate degrees in Biblical Studies and Divinity.
